Day 1: I Looked, It was Good, Going to Bed Now

Hi Everyone,
I just got home from the "first look" party, and it was pretty amazing.  I have a multitude of thanks to send to many people, which I will do as soon as I catch my breath and a few ZZZZs.

My first look in the mirror was great.  I was nervous.  It was a little bit awkward (a lot of people were there!), but I liked what I saw, and I felt incredibly supported by my friends and family.  More soon!

  1. CONGRATS!!!! I had a feeling that first look would be just right!

  2. oh, I wish I could have been there.

  3. It was a great time! xx

  4. I just came across your blog (fascinating project, btw!) and am now burning with questions about Day 1! Did you "recognize" yourself after not seeing yourself for a year? Did you find yourself criticizing parts of your face/body? How did looking in the mirror again make you feel? What did you notice first (with or without judgement)? Will you go back to using mirrors daily now? I have a MA in Gender Studies from UT and would love to interview you for our newsletter. If you're interested, please get in touch (and regardless, I look forward to reading your answers to my questions above)!
